Handmade in the UK using high grade solid steel components, these stunning double metal gates benefit from an arch top design combined with spear shaped finials to create an imposing statement at an affordable online price. Manufactured with 40mm x 30mm flat bar steel hanging stiles, 40mm x 10mm flat bar closing stiles and double cross rails combined with 16mm round solid metal infill bars, the gates offer excellent levels of strength and rigidity making them perfect for any large residential opening. The bottom portion of the gates have smaller spacings between the bars which are great for ensuring pets and animals cannot squeeze through whilst the circular wrought iron style scrolls provide additional visual appeal. Included with the Balmoral estate gates are heavy duty adjustable surface mounted hinges to aid levelling during installation. They also come complete with a secure latch mechanism and in ground drop bolt to ensure the gates remain in the correct position when closed. Primed black (undercoat) as standard, it is important to note that all exposed metal surfaces will need to be painted with a minimum of 2 coats of exterior grade paint prior to installation to prevent the onset of rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width: The space required for the hinges and latch is already included in the "fits opening" specifications given in the drop-down menu. As a result, to establish the correct size to order, you should measure the distance between existing masonry supports then select the option that matches this measurement (as shown in the drop down menu) . Additional calculations should be avoided because they will result in ordering errors.

• Height: This measurement refers to the actual height of the gates. This is measured from the underside of the framework to the highest point. We have not made any allowance for ground clearance you will need. For optimum results, we suggest leaving 50mm (2”) beneath the gates to ensure they are able to swing free from obstruction.

Ordering Example

If the distance between brick pillars measures 3048mm you should order the gates to “fit opening 3048mm”.

Is it Necessary to Install Metal Posts?

When no existing support structure is available the use of metal posts will be necessary. These can be selected from the options and accessories menu as shown at the top of the page. Please note that if ordering these items, it's crucial to keep in mind that this will necessitate more room.

Example – Gates to fit an opening of 3048mm combined with 2 x 150mm posts will require a total overall space of 3348mm.
