It features a traditional archtop profile, wrought iron style scrolls, and solid infill bars and includes surface-mounted hinges and a latch mechanism. The gate is ideal for easy DIY installation and can be mounted directly to various structures, including brickwork, metal, or timber posts. For improved protection against rust and corrosion, the Classic design is zinc-plated and powder-coated black.

Ordering Sizes

• Width: Measure the gap between walls or existing posts to establish the ordering size. You do not need to make any further calculations as our "fits opening" measurement already includes the space required for the hinges and latch.

• Height: The "physical height" measurement shown above does not include the space required for ground clearance. When installing the gate, we recommend you allow 50mm (2") clearance to the underside of the frame.

Example

If the opening between your existing walls or posts is 914mm (3ft), you will need to order a gate to "fit opening 914mm (3ft)".

Do You Need to Install Metal Gate Posts?

For installations that require metal posts, it is important to remember that additional space will be required for these items. 

Example – A gate to fit an opening of 3ft 3" combined with 2 x 2" posts will need an overall space of 3ft 7".
