The Ascot design is more than capable of withstanding the rigours of daily use, thanks to strong and sturdy 40mm x 30mm flat bar steel hanging stiles, 40mm x 10mm closing stiles and cross-rails, and 16mm diameter metal infill bars. The gates have a double row of fleur-de-lys finials mixed with various ornamental features to produce an overall appearance that is just stunning. They incorporate surface mounted adjustable hinges to help level the gates and a simple latch mechanism and drop bolt to hold the gates in place when closed. The gates are available primed black as standard, meaning you must paint them before installation to enable rust and corrosion protection or an optional zinc plated and black powder coated option.

Ordering Sizes

Width: Measure the current size of the opening between the walls or posts. You will use this measurement to select the ordering size. Our "fits opening" measurement, as indicated in the drop-down menu, already includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch therefore you should make no other allowances.

Height: The "fitted height" corresponds to the height of the gates once they have been installed and is measured from the ground to the top of the horizontal framework. The finials above this are not included within this size. The height dimension includes a 50mm (2") provision for ground clearance. 

Example

If the gap between existing brickwork is 12ft 6", the gates should be ordered to "fit opening 12ft 6". ​

Do you Require any Additional Posts? 

For installations without a suitable support structure to attach the hinges, metal posts will be needed, so keep in mind that you'll need more room to accommodate these items.

Example – Gates to fit an opening of 12ft 6" combined with 2 x 6" posts will require a total overall space of 13ft 6".
