The Winchester Wrought Iron Style Metal Railings are an excellent choice for any property owner looking to enhance the security of their boundary walls. The traditional appearance means they are compatible with most property types, whilst the solid steel construction ensures they are robust and durable. Handmade in the UK, the Winchester design is available in a selection of width and height combinations to suit your requirements, is easy to install and is perfect for DIY installations thanks to the surface-mounted fixing brackets included as standard.

Winchester Metal Railing Specification

• Suitable for a range of residential applications.

• The timeless design will blend with any property type.

• Available in a selection of width and height combinations.

• 20mm x 8mm flat bar solid steel framework, 10mm round metal vertical infill bars and 10mm x 3mm wrought iron style scrollwork.

• Includes 4 x surface-mounted fitting brackets, which you can mount to any appropriate surface.

• Black primed (undercoat) - Additional painting is required to protect against corrosion.

Available Size Options

The following width and height options are available (we recommend you refer to the ordering information section below for clarification of what these measurements refer to).

• Fits Opening: 914mm, 1830mm & 2743mm

• Height (once fitted): 457mm + top scrolls, 610mm + top scrolls, & 914mm + top scrolls

Ordering Information

• Width: The “fits opening” dimension is the actual size of the opening required between existing pillars or posts. The space required for the fitting brackets has already been accounted for within this measurement therefore no further allowances should be made. If you require metal posts, please refer to the examples below for further clarification. 

• Height: The measurement represents the height of the railings after installation (allowing for a 50mm gap for clearance) and excludes the top scrolls.

Do You Need Metal Posts?

If you cannot install the railings between existing brick pillars, the alternate solution is to use bolt-down metal posts. Please note that you must consider the extra space required for this installation method when ordering.

Ordering Example (when metal posts are required)

The method of working out the combined space is the same for all three width options; however, we have provided an example of "fits opening 1830mm" width option below for simplicity.

• 1 x railing and 2 x 50mm posts will require a combined space of 1930mm.

• 2 x railings and 3 x 50mm posts will require a combined distance of 3810mm.

• 3 x railings and 4 x 50mm posts require a combined space of 5690mm.
